A 20 mil Code 39 reads out to 1115 mm (43.9 in) and a 13 mil UPC to 654 mm (25.75 in), so an operator can read a pallet label from the aisle or a carton across a receiving bench without moving. It still handles 3 mil Code 39 from 34 mm. What it cannot do is read 5 mil Data Matrix: Honeywell's standard range column prints not readable against that row, so this is a capability the scanner lacks rather than a range it struggles with. Host connections

Honeywell publishes three host interfaces for the Xenon Ultra 1960g: USB, keyboard wedge and RS-232. Note what is not on that list. The Xenon XP 1952g and the Voyager XP 1470g both add IBM 46xx over RS485 for legacy point-of-sale lanes, and Honeywell's 1960g data sheet does not, so a site with IBM till lanes should confirm the requirement with Honeywell before standardising on this model.
