Host connections

The scanner supports USB, RS-232, keyboard wedge and IBM 468xx over RS-485, and this kit is cabled for USB with the factory default set to USB HID keyboard emulation. Where it fits

Retail tills, pharmacy dispensing, libraries, back-office document handling and any bench where the codes are printed 1D and will stay that way. CodeGate makes it particularly good on multi-barcode documents, and at 100 g it is easy on the wrist. The reasons not to buy it are two and both are decisive. It cannot read a 2D code, so mobile coupons and 2D licences are out; and it is end of life and sold non-cancellable and non-refundable, so a new deployment starting on it is starting on hardware with no future.
