No Power Supply Included
2200-87000-025 is the PoE build of the Edge E320 and there is no AC power supply in the box. On a network with 802.3af Power over Ethernet at the switch that is exactly right and the phone powers up on the network drop alone. On a desk served by an unpowered switch it will not start, and the Poly Edge E-series supply, 2200-49925-001 rated 5 V at 3 A, has to be ordered separately. HP also publishes a bundled SKU, 89B52AA, which is the same phone supplied with a power supply. Confirm PoE at the switch before ordering, because this is the most avoidable return on a desk phone.
Bluetooth and NFC
The Edge E320 has Bluetooth 5.0 integrated, which is the practical upgrade over the VVX generation it replaces: a wireless headset pairs directly to the phone with no USB dongle occupying a port and nothing extra to buy. A passive NFC tag on the console handles tap-to-pair for headsets and phones that support it. Note that there is no Wi-Fi on the E320 - that appears higher in the Edge E range - so the phone still needs a wired network drop. The single USB port is Type-C rather than Type-A, which matters when reusing older USB-A headsets.
Calls and Handling
Eight physical line keys cover more roles directly than the six-key phones a step below, and pagination extends that to 32 line and contact appearances for receptionists and anyone monitoring several extensions. The 3.5 inch IPS colour display is noticeably better than the TN panels of the previous generation at an angle, and the RGB surround lightbar shows ringing, held and in-call states from across a room. Audio is Poly HD Voice with NoiseBlockAI, which suppresses background noise for the far end, and Acoustic Fence, which suppresses noise from around the user. Microban protection is applied to the console, handset and cord.
Current Platform
The Edge E series is Poly's current desk phone line and the E320 is not on any HP or Poly end-of-sale notice, which makes it the sensible choice for a new deployment rather than an extension of an existing VVX estate. Firmware is Open SIP: standard Poly UC/Edge SIP for hosted providers and SIP PBXs. It is not a Teams-certified build and not an OBi Edition, so match the edition to what your platform specifies. Wall mounting is supported but the bracket, Poly 2200-47330-001, is an optional part sold separately and is not in the box.
For new SIP deployments that want a current-platform desk phone with built-in Bluetooth on a PoE network, the Poly Edge E320 2200-87000-025 is a strong choice - confirm PoE at the switch. Contact us to learn more or secure this solution for your business today.
