Poly's own datasheet ordering table gives the part number and its description as one unseparated string reading 2200-48830-025 VVX 350 WW PoE, confirmed on two independently worded passes, and three specialist dealers print the same pairing alongside the HP number 89B68AA. The VVX 450 is 2200-48840-025. The consequence is concrete: the VVX 350 has six line keys and no expansion module, where the VVX 450 has twelve and does support one. Poly's own transition table annotates the point in as many words. Anyone replacing a VVX 450 needs the other part number.

Lines and display

Six line keys, supporting up to 34 line-key appearances by paging through them. The screen is a colour 3.5 in LCD at 320 by 240 pixels, which is the same size and resolution as the primary display on the Edge E450 and a considerable step up from the greyscale 208 by 104 panel on the VVX 311. Poly positioned this as its mid-range business phone, and six keys is the right count for a knowledge worker with a couple of monitored extensions rather than for a receptionist. Where more capacity is needed the answer is not a sidecar: expansion module support is verified absent from this model in two passes of its datasheet, and Poly's transition table restricts module support to the VVX 450 within the successor range.

Ports and power

This phone has two USB 2.0 ports, which is worth stating because it is more USB than either Edge E model provides and infinitely more than the VVX 311, which has none. They take media, storage and USB headsets, and they are also the attachment point for the optional Poly Wi-Fi USB accessory, since there is no Wi-Fi radio built in. There is no Bluetooth at all. Ethernet is a two-port gigabit switch across LAN and PC. Power is IEEE 802.3af PoE at Class 0 drawing 13 W maximum, and no adapter ships in the box because PoE is the intended configuration. Headsets

Headset attachment on the VVX 350 runs three ways and each suits a different desk. Where it fits

Buy this phone to match a fleet. If a site already runs VVX 350 handsets, has dial plans, provisioning files and user training built around them, one more identical unit is worth more than a better phone that behaves differently. The same logic covers a failed unit on a validated line where requalification is not practical. What it is not is a starting point for a new estate: the model is discontinued, the software train it runs is closed at 6.4.6, and the Edge E Series is the current generation with an open support horizon.
